Zakat — the right of the poor in your wealth
The fourth pillar of Islam, and one of the most direct acts of worship: a fixed share of your wealth, returned each year to those with a right to it. We treat it as the trust it is.
2.5% of your zakatable wealth, once it passes the nisab
Zakat is due on the wealth a Muslim has held for a full lunar year, once its value exceeds the nisab — the minimum threshold, measured against gold or silver. Above that threshold, the rate is 2.5%. It is not charity in the ordinary sense: it is a right the poor and vulnerable hold over the wealth of those Allah has provided for.
Our promise100% Zakat policy — every shilling reaches a beneficiary
Your Zakat is ring-fenced. Nothing is deducted for salaries, admin or operations — those are covered by separate Sadaqah and institutional funds. Zakat you give through Maahad Daawah goes only to those eligible to receive it, in full.
