Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026 · Sample terms for the prototype — to be reviewed by legal counsel before launch.
1. About us & acceptance
This website is operated by Maahad Daawah Organisation (“Maahad”, “we”, “us”), a registered non-governmental organisation based in Nairobi, Kenya (P.O. Box 10527-00100). By using this site, placing an order, or making a donation, you agree to these Terms.
2. Donations & Zakat
- All payments are processed cashlessly through M-Pesa (Safaricom Daraja) and card/Pesalink (Paystack). We do not accept or store cash on this platform.
- Donations are applied to the fund you select. Zakat is ring-fenced under our 100% policy: the full amount reaches eligible beneficiaries, with operating costs met from other funds.
- A receipt is issued for every successful payment. Donations are generally non-refundable; if a genuine error occurs, contact us promptly and we will review it in good faith.
3. Udhiya & Qurbani
- Udhiya orders are seasonal and fulfilled around Eid al-Adha in accordance with Shariah. You choose what happens to the animal (take it live, have it slaughtered for you, or donate the meat) and how you receive it (collect or delivery).
- An animal is tagged to your order after payment; the tag number is shared with you. Where you donate the meat, Maahad distributes it where it is most needed and shares photo proof.
- Prices, sizes and availability vary by season and station. If an animal you selected becomes unavailable, we may substitute an equivalent or contact you.
4. Shop & merchandise
Merchandise proceeds support our programmes. Items are reserved on payment and confirmed once payment clears. Delivery or collection is arranged with you. Faulty items may be returned within a reasonable period.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to disrupt it, or use it for unlawful purposes. Information you provide (including names for an Udhiya offered on behalf of others) must be accurate and lawful for you to share.
6. Intellectual property
The content, branding and materials on this site belong to Maahad or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission, except as needed to use the site normally.
7. Liability
We provide the site and services with reasonable care but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the value of the relevant order or donation.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
9. Changes & contact
We may update these Terms from time to time; the latest version always applies. Questions? Email info@maahad.org or call +254-733-994-009.
